Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Animal Kingdom is not just a place to see some animals. There are some great rides and attractions here. The theming when entering the park is excellent and you feel like you are really entering another world.

The best place to head to first is Kilimanjaro Safari as it is best to see the animals in the morning when it is cooler. As the name implies you are taken on a “safari” to see the animals so you see them in their natural habitat.

There is also a great new ride called Expedition Everest which is not for the faint hearted but is an excellent roller coaster with a difference! The queues are really long so best to head there first to get a “fast pass”.

The Kali River Rapids are a great place to cool down and Dinoland is great for a few of the gentler rides and fairground attractions. There are plenty of fantastic shows to see with Finding Nemo - The Musical being the latest. As it is a new show the queues are again very long so get there early.

Finding somewhere to eat here is a great experience as all the restaurants are brilliantly themed. The restaurants in Africa and Asia are really good at making you feel you are somewhere special.

Be aware that there is a lot of vegetation here and so in the summer months it can be extremely hot!

All in all a great place to see and get some education about wildlife but done in that special Disney way!
